The professional services firm Deloitte has always had a focus on environmental sustainability – this year, its Sustainability Committee presented 40 summer vacationers across the firm with the opportunity to fundraise for Green Charities.
Each business unit conducted their own fundraisers with great results.
All sold raffle tickets and collected gold coin donations on ‘Green Day’, where the whole firm was invited to wear green to show their support for sustainability.
Some specific activities from the service lines included a coin toss conducted by Tax Services, a bake sale by Corporate Finance and Risk Services coordinated with local businesses to organise a raffle.
The aim within Risk Services was to raise over five hundred dollars – this goal was aided by the promise of all five partners to wear netball skirts to their annual Christmas party if the benchmark was achieved.

The money raised went towards initiatives at both the Earthwatch Institute and Green Cross Australia, with the Green Cross chosen by Risk Services as a vibrant and inspiring young charity committed to tackling the humanitarian impacts of climate change.
It was great to be able to work with the Sustainability Committee to raise funds and awareness for such a worthwhile initiative.
The vacationers have all certainly learnt a lot along the way about fundraising, teamwork, baking (!) and of course environmental sustainability.
