Green Cross Australia invites Brisbane residents to join them for two days of talks about the issues that now face Australia and the Asia Pacific region over the displacement of communities from sea level rise and climate change.
The National People's Assembly will be conducted in the powerful model of a consensus conference, where a group of ordinary citizens have the opportunity to influence how Australia should prepare for the often neglected human aspect of sea level rise.
Hear the views of the specially formed Citizen's Panel from around Australia and listen to key experts currently working in this area, including: Rev. Tim Costello, CEO, World Vision Australia; Dr Andrew Ash, Director, CSIRO Climate Adaptation Flagship, Professor Ian Lowe, President, Australian Conservation Foundation, Andrew Hewett, CEO Oxfam Australia, and Sonia Caton, Principal Solicitor, Refugee and Immigration Legal Service.
The two day event will conclude with a presentation of the Citizen's Panel Consensus Report to the Federal Government.
